Caspar Richter was born in Lübeck. Until 1984 he was conductor at the German Opera in Berlin. Employee of Karl Böhm, H. v. Karajan and many more. 1975 – Kurt-Magnus-Award (ARD). Guest-conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Radio Orchestra (NDR, HR, SWR & SFB). Till 1981 musical director of the Berlin Festivals, founding of the international summer festivals Berlin. Starting 1983 conductor at the Viennese state opera under the command of L. Maazel and at the Vienna Volksopera as chief of the orchestra. In 1984 command over the Bregenz Festival, guest at the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Radio Symphony orchestra. Cofounder and musical director of the United Boards Vienna under the command of Peter Weck and Franz Häussler. Buildup of a big, steady entertainment- and musical-orchestra for three theatres. Theater an der Wien, Raimundtheater and Ronacher. Rehearsal and conducting of all big musicals, among others six premieres, plus German premieres of the VBW.: among others CATS,  A CHORUSLINE , THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, ELISABETH, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, MOZART, CHICAGO, ROMEO AND JULIETTE, REBECCA, RUDOLF, DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES. Many awards for CD-recordings – gold to quadruple platinum. Premiere of Joe Zawinuls Danube Symphony at the Bruckner Festival in Linz (Klangwolke). 2005 – Voest Festival – Voest Ling “A Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber”. Bestowal of the badge of honor by the Vienna state authorities. Bestowal of the cross of honor for science and arts (1st class) by the Republic of Austria. 2009 musical direction of the Mörbisch Lake Festival. Since 2010 general musical director of the Brünn National Opera and guest-conductor of the Brünn city theatre.
